About Salma El-Yassir

Salma is the CEO and Co-Founder of Womaneze, a femtech company. Her career encompassed several senior management positions in both the development and private health sectors. She has a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard, a master’s degree in Public Health from AUB, and an undergraduate degree in economics from the London School of Economics.

What are your hopes for the next generation of women in tech?
I hope that there is a higher representation of women in tech, as founders, CTO's, developers, etc. I hope that woman tech founders are taken as seriously as men when seeking investment. I also hope that there are more femtech startups that service women's health issues.

What’s the greatest piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The greatest advice I ever received was to take a moment between a thought created by an incident and the knee-jerk reaction it causes. We often act on assumptions that have no basis in reality. Taking time to examine assumptions and consider different perspectives often leads to better outcomes.
