Area of Expertise
Dalia Hassan is a Public Health student at Toronto Metropolitan University and a social justice advocate driven by a commitment to advancing equity through innovation. As a first-generation Egyptian-Canadian, her work is grounded in the belief that lasting systems change begins by shifting power to communities too often excluded from the institutions meant to serve them.
Before transferring to TMU, Dalia studied Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan, where she led institutional anti-racism initiatives and founded an interdisciplinary coalition focused on advancing equity in healthcare education. She previously co-founded an esports venture that engaged at-risk youth in Toronto and helped address social isolation during the pandemic. She is the co-founder of Bridge Health Collaborative, a health equity nonprofit working to transform food banks in the Greater Toronto Area into access points for chronic disease management. Through this work, she builds partnerships, leads community-rooted research, and mobilizes knowledge into impactful solutions that address the social and structural conditions shaping health.
