Sharleen Chebet

Black Innovation Programs Assistant

Area of Expertise

Sharleen is a fourth-year computer science student at TMU. A committed techno‑optimist, Sharleen believes technology should empower everybody and has the potential to solve hard, important problems that civilization relies on. Before joining the DMZ, Sharleen worked at the intersection of data, AI, and research: at KPMG’s Ignition Centre on analytics and visualization; in Google’s Computer Science Summer Institute; with Carleton University’s Science of Imagination Lab on applied AI; and at the Arthur B. McDonald Canadian Astroparticle Physics Research Institute using machine‑learning techniques  in support of dark‑matter searches. Sharleen also completed an undergraduate math research program at the Fields Institute. At DMZ, Sharleen hopes to help Black founders who empower communities and convert breakthrough ideas into real-world impact.
