As Manager of the Startup Legal Support Centre, Tanya helps founders navigate the legal side of building a startup, providing practical guidance and support as they grow their businesses.

Since she first stepped into the world of business ownership, Tanya has been an advocate for women’s entrepreneurship, leading initiatives to elevate and advance women’s economic, social and political empowerment. She is the founder of Openly Inc., a social impact organization that brings strategy, design and measurement together to advance the work of changemakers tackling society’s most wicked problems. In making the shift to law in 2022, she brings substantive experience in to her legal practice, joyfully leading DMZ Startup Legal Support Centre and bringing the best of herself to strengthening Canada’s startup ecosystem and innovation economy.
