About Huda Idrees
Huda Idrees always knew she wanted to launch her own business. At 12 she started building websites for customers while living in Saudi Arabia. These days she fronts Dot Health, a tech startup that makes it easier for individuals to access health services for a low monthly fee. Her company is helping push Ontario’s health system into the 21st century by removing paper and pen records that can easily be lost and digitizing the health experience. It’s a tough problem that others have tried and failed to solve. In addition to her work, she’s also earned her ‘Top 5 CEO’ by Toronto Life for her company’s fast-paced growth.
“A great piece of advice I once got about seven years ago was, ‘learn to ask for what you want.’ It’s changed the trajectory of my career. It’s deceivingly simple advice that’s loaded. Want a different job than the one advertised? Create one for yourself. Want a raise? Figure out the best pathway to getting just that.”
