We're excited to welcome the latest cohort of startups to DMZ's Centre for Housing Innovation (CHI), an accelerator program funded by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
From planning and construction to operations and resident experience, this group of startups are modernizing industry practices, improving project delivery and bringing more homes to market faster.
Over the next six months, founders will gain access to tailored programming, expert mentorship and industry connections to help them validate their solutions and accelerate growth.
Together, the cohort represents a broad range of solutions tackling challenges across construction workflows, rental operations, workforce coordination and the systems that support more efficient housing development.
Meet CHI’s third —and largest cohort— yet:
Aretek (formerly Printerra)
Aretek develops additive construction systems and engineering services that enable scalable 3D-printed building delivery by combining design, permitting, materials and on-site execution support into a unified construction platform.
Bidblox offers an AI-powered preconstruction platform that streamlines construction bidding and procurement by turning project specs into structured scope, pricing insights and bid comparisons to improve accuracy and speed in project planning.
Calyx develops clean energy financing and technology solutions that make it more affordable to integrate efficient, reliable energy systems into homes while supporting more cost-effective housing development.
Crewscope offers an AI field intelligence platform for construction and industrial teams that connects workers and site leaders through real-time, text-based communication to improve coordination, productivity and on-site execution.
Devnex provides digital tools that support real estate development and construction teams with planning, coordination and project execution workflows, helping simplify complex development processes from early-stage planning through delivery.
House Beat builds a home management platform that helps homeowners track, maintain and improve their properties using data-driven insights and tools that simplify planning, repairs and long-term home upkeep.
QuickCasa develops an AI-powered leasing and lead qualification platform that automates renter conversations, scores intent and helps property managers convert leads more efficiently across multiple channels.
Quotograph offers construction project management software that helps teams organize documentation, streamline communication and manage workflows more effectively across complex building projects.
Small Living designs and develops compact housing solutions that respond to affordability and space constraints in urban markets, focusing on innovative, space-efficient living models for modern cities.
Stepscale builds workforce and operations software for construction teams, helping improve field coordination, scheduling and day-to-day execution to enhance productivity across job sites.
The housing crisis won't be solved by one organization alone. It will take collaboration between founders, industry leaders, governments and communities willing to think differently and build boldly.
We're proud to support this exceptional group of entrepreneurs as they shape the future of housing innovation, and we can't wait to see what they accomplish next.
