DMZ YYZ is a customized two-week intensive soft landing program in Toronto, Canada, that helps international growth-stage startups explore, launch and grow their business in the North American market.

The program is based at the DMZ's headquarters, a world-leading tech incubator. DMZ YYZ provides startups with workspace, coaching, tailored workshops, and the opportunity to engage with investors, partners, mentors, customers, and the startup community in Toronto.

Programming will run from June 19th to 30th 2023, including participation in the leading global tech conference Collison.

Through this program, you will:

  • Gain a better understanding of the North American ecosystem
  • Grow your network of investors and customers in the North American market
  • Integrate into North America’s entrepreneurial community by attending Collision, a global tech conference

Program

  • Pre-arrival
    Virtual onboarding including introductions to coaches, DMZ team members and goal setting.
  • Week 1: Intensive programming
    1-1 COACH - personalized coaching from our Experts-in-Residence (EiRs).

    TAILORED LEARNING - sessions with cutting-edge industry champions.

    INTRODUCTIONS - attend curated networking events where you can mingle with potential partners, customers, investors, and other entrepreneurs.

  • Week 2: Ecosystem immersion
    TICKETS TO A WORLD LEADING TECH CONFERENCE - connect with DMZ’s community and alumni of serial entrepreneurs from Canada and America by attending the global conference Collision.
  • After-departure
    CONTINUED COACHING, NETWORKING AND SUPPORT - from DMZ’s team and community while you are here and once you have gone home.

Applicant Criteria

We’re looking for promising and high-impact tech entrepreneurs who have what it takes to scale their business in North America.

Interested applicants must also have:

  • A business dedicated to solving a compelling problem using innovative technology
  • At least one full-time founder who can be dedicated to the program
  • A driven, coachable, and collaborative leadership team
  • Must have an in-house technical lead
  • A functional MVP
  • The ability to become a venture backable business in a growing market

Program Cost

Total programming cost per startup: 10,000 USD

The cost of the program includes two weeks of entrepreneurship-focused content, including:

  • A series of workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions led by industry experts.
  • Tickets to exclusive networking events such as DMZ Industry Night.
  • Tickets to the 2023 Collision conference.
  • Access to the full range of services at the DMZ’s office location at 10 Dundas St. East for the duration of the program.

Additional costs:

  • Hotel accommodations for the duration of the program can be booked at a discounted rate through The DMZ. Alternatively, program participants can arrange their own accommodations.
  • Flights to and from your destination of origin must be arranged by program participants.
