Alyssa Shi

As a Startup Legal Strategist, Alyssa supports DMZ and its portfolio of startups by providing guidance through legal complexities, ensuring compliance, and developing strategic legal initiatives. Prior to attending Lincoln Alexander School of Law, Alyssa obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto, specializing in Neuroscience. During her time there, she delved into behavioural and molecular neuroscience research and contributed to publications on temporal decision-making and Parkinson’s pathology.

After graduation, Alyssa steered away from academia to assist her family in launching their business, where she recognized the need for legal expertise in their endeavours. Her legal career commenced with a short internship at Dentons Beijing, where she supported companies through the IPO process. Now, Alyssa’s passion lies at the intersection of business law and technology in exploring innovative solutions. She is excited to join DMZ to provide legal guidance to entrepreneurs, to foster the growth of their startups and propel their innovations forward.
