Candice Faktor

As the former general manager for Wattpad — one of the world’s largest storytelling platforms with over 50 million users — and current associate at deep tech incubator Creative Destruction Lab, Candice Faktor knows all too well how difficult it can be for entrepreneurs to succeed. Those challenges inspired her to create Faktory Ventures, which invests in local businesses ready to expand onto the global stage and grow their business. Over the years, her inspirational work includes co-creating Torstar Digital, a disruptive digital venture arm of Torstar and advisory role with SickKids Tech Advisory team.

“You need to be optimistic about the future or you can’t create the future you want. If you want to actually make a difference you have to get curious about the things that are going to be the future, and that’s certainly what I did.”
