Hanna Zaidi

Under her leadership, Wealthsimple was one of the first securities dealers to get a membership to Payments Canada. Membership gives Wealthsimple access to critical payments infrastructure and tools for innovating in financial services.

Hanna’s leadership also contributed to Wealthsimple being the first non-bank/non-credit union to be given a direct-settlement account by the Bank of Canada. This will allow Wealthsimple to build even more affordable, innovative payment solutions that do not currently exist in Canada and will vastly improve the daily lives of millions of Canadians.

What are your hopes for the next generation of women in tech?
They say that in order to have a successful venture, you need to do everything right and then get lucky. For women, you need to do everything right, get lucky and hope that you don't face biases for being a woman. My hope for the next generation is that the world sees that results have no gender.

What’s the greatest piece of advice you’ve ever received?
1. Results have no gender. 2. You don’t get what you deserve; you get what you negotiate. 3. People treat you how you teach them to treat you.
