About Michele Romanow

She’s on TV every Thursday where she and a panel of the country’s most renowned venture capitalists decide whether or not to invest in up-and-coming entrepreneurs and covered the front page of almost every major magazine in Canada.

While Michele Romanow is probably best known for her role on the high-stake reality show called Dragons’ Den it’s just part of her inspirational career in tech. Over the last decade, the serial entrepreneur has founded or worked with some of the country’s most profitable homegrown companies, including Buytopia, SnapSaves (which was later acquired by Groupon) and Clearbanc. Her achievements have led her to be named as part of WXN’s “100 Most Powerful Women in Canada,” Forbes “Millennial on a Mission” list, and winner of the Toronto Board of Trade Award for entrepreneurs under 30. Aside from her many accomplishments, she’s also an active volunteer that includes work on the board of directors for SHAD—a registered Canadian charity that empowers exceptional high school students to become innovative leaders and changemakers.

“Start now. There’s no perfect time to start a business or take a risk. There’s never a perfect idea, but as soon as you get started it will force you to iterate to get a great idea. That’s true innovation, the process of iteration.”
