About Priya Patil

Priya has over 20 years of senior executive leadership experience in building, leading, operating, and streamlining financial services businesses relating to public capital markets and private institutional financing as an investment banker and finance attorney.

Currently, she is the head of Global Diversified Industries (business development) at the Toronto Stock Exchange (financial services; communications and media; consumer/industrial manufacturing and services; real estate; utilities and pipelines; and forest and paper products primarily advising pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and private equity funds relating to IPO strategies for their investee companies).

Prior to TSX, she was a founding partner and managing director at PI Financial where she established and led the eastern Canadian expansion. She is also the managing director (head of investment banking) at Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon. She was a finance attorney in Palo Alto, California (Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison); Global General Counsel (Breakwater Resources, a dual listed mining company acquired by Nyerstar for $1 billion); General Motors; GMP and Dundee Securities after working as a merchant banker with the State Bank of India in Mumbai.

She holds a corporate director charter (ICD.D) from the Rotman School of Management at University of Toronto. As a corporate secretary for a dual listed large company, Priya brings over 15 years of governance experience in business oriented not-for-profit organizations. She is a member of the Ontario and California Bars; Institute of Corporate Directors; American Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association, Association for Corporate Growth. She holds a J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Ottawa and a B.Sc. (Honours) in Statistics and Computer Sciences from the University of Bombay. She has served on the board of Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), a global private equity industry organization, YWCA and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a founding member of the Toronto chapter of Silicon Valley based TiE Global.
