Google Developers Launchpad partners with DMZ to support Canadian startups

TORONTO, June 19, 2019 – Google Developers Launchpad, a global program helping startups build and scale products, has partnered with the DMZ, a Toronto-based tech incubator-accelerator, to help Canadian startup founders maximize their business growth efforts.

DMZ startup companies, both current and alumni, will benefit from year-round equity-free support from Google certified experts focusing on a full-suite of services including technology, machine learning, product design, talent, media relations and more.

On Saturday, July 20, entrepreneurs across Canada will be given the exclusive opportunity to utilize Launchpad’s resources during Google Mentor Day 2019.

“We have mentored close to 300 startups around the world, with a focus on scalability and avoidance of technical debt. Google’s partnership with DMZ will allow Canadian tech entrepreneurs to access Launchpad’s diverse pool of mentors, global network of investors, and fellow tech entrepreneurs. For Google Mentor Day 2019 we are flying in over 70 tech experts to mentor startups in the region,” said Naveen Nigam, Google’s Head of Developer Ecosystems in North America.

Open to all Canadian tech entrepreneurs, Google Mentor Day 2019 will provide select founders with:

  • The opportunity to connect with up to 70 Google certified mentors
  • One-on-one mentorship meetings with professional experts who actively contribute to and support the developer and startup ecosystems around the world.

“Google Developers Launchpad is a powerful global program for entrepreneurs and this partnership with DMZ will only increase the rate of success and growth of our startups,” said Abdullah Snobar, executive director, DMZ. “This partnership, and Google Mentor Day 2019, will help provide Canadian entrepreneurs with access to resources from around the world, allowing them to reach and connect with new markets, as they scale their businesses.”
